This workshop purports to invite academics, policymakers and practitioners who work in the field of tourism to the fascinating endeavor of qualitative research. Although the dominance of quantitative methods is still evident in tourism research, there is an increasing use of qualitative methods. Qualitative tourism research has been concerned with capturing the lived experiences, meanings and points of view of different actors. Some examples of this investigation technique will be discussed, mainly the research aims, study methods and main contributions to science, policy, and professional practice. Furthermore, future avenues of qualitative tourism research will be participatory explored during this workshop.
