João Ministro is an environmental engineer (graduated at Universidade do Algarve) and CEO of Proactivetur, an incoming DMC and Tour Operator specialized in ecotourism and responsible tourism in Algarve. For several years was in charge of regional projects at Almargem’s NGO, regarding sustainable development of the inland territories. Among them, “Via Algarviana” long-distance trail, “Birdwatching Strategy for Algarve” or “Provere Ecotourism Strategy”. Since 2010 is Proactivetur’s CEO, responsible for other projects regarding tourism, nature and culture: Ameixial Walking Festival, Algarve Walking Season, Projecto TASA, among others.
