Vítor Manuel Gonçalves Aleixo, a History and Social Sciences graduate, has been Mayor of Loulé, Portugal, since 2013. He is on the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities, Director Committee of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, Algarve Hydrographic Region Council, and the Implementation and Monitoring Committee of the National Plan for Efficient Use of Water. He is a member of Council of Algarve Intermunicipal Community and of the Central Algarve Strategic Program, President of the General Assembly of the Algarve Association, of the Algarve Regional Council, and of AREAL’s Board of Directors, Algarve Regional Environment and Energy Agency. cmloule@cm-loule.pt
